Ep. 07 - Demolishing Resistance

Ep. 07 - Demolishing Resistance

About this Episode

Hi! Welcome to the Creative Force podcast. In this episode, my good friend Kelley Perry interviews me as I talk on the topic of Demolishing Resistance! Resistance is the force that holds us back from moving forward on our goals. This concept comes from Steven Pressfield’s book “The War of Art.” It’s time to demolish resistance in your life!

Scriptures Mentioned

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.  – Galatians 2:20

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.  - Colossians 3:15

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. - 2 Timothy 1: 7

Takeaways

Resistance is a negative feeling that stops you from moving forward on your dreams. Basically, you feel it whenever you are trying to improve yourself.

Perfect = Done + On Time

What is it that is making me want to put this off?

Do something. Whatever it is, just one small step take that towards your goals and just know that God is for you, know that He is fighting your battles.

Quotes Mentioned

“Time management is giving your time to the Lord.” – Carrie Pickett

“The Principle of Priority states (a) you must know the difference between what is urgent and what is important, and (b) you must do what's important first.” – Stephen Pressfield

“We don’t tell ourselves; I’m never going to write my symphony. Instead we say, “I am going to write my symphony; I’m just going to start tomorrow.” – Stephen Pressfield
