About
Hi, Welcome to the Creative Force podcast. This week I speak with successful business owner and wedding planner Irene Katzias. In this episode, Irene shares her journey of entrepreneurship from leaving her 9 to 5 to where she is now. Irene gives tangible advice on how to maintain high-end clientele, how to achieve a verbal brand identity, and how to stay passionate about your work. It’s time to just say yes and get started on creating your dream business!
My Takeaways
In order to start, you just have to get started!
Don’t despise the small beginnings, she started wedding planning on weekends with her 9-5 job.
Her business took off when she decided she was investing all in. “If it fails it fails. But at least I’ll know I did my best.”
Bet on yourself!
Most of the money is in the middle.
Get to know the business you’re trying to create- she got to know the behind the scenes of the DJ’s, the caterers, etc.
You learn more about your preferences by just doing it.
Be intentional about your clients, if there’s someone you’re not meant to work with- refer them to another business.
BE FRIENDLY! You’re not going to make it in entrepreneurship if you don’t have the people skills.
Your brand has not only a visual identity but a verbal identity. Identify your tone of voice and create a brand dictionary that is full of words you do say and words you don’t say.
Just say yes!
