About
Hey friends, welcome back to Season 4 of the Creative Force Podcast! I am so excited to be back, and I am kicking things off by talking about something that was a huge part of my 2025 - Change. Honestly, it's part of the reason I took such a long break between seasons!
Last year, brought a lot of unexpected transitions for me, including multiple moves, and in this episode I talk about the lessons I learned (and wish I knew sooner) on how to handle change well. If you're in a season of transition right now, or you can feel one coming, this one is for you.
Take-aways
• There are two types of change: proactive change (the change you choose) and forced change (the change that happens to you).
• You get to choose how you respond to change — victim or empowered, disappointed or looking for new options.
• Stay flexible and not fragile. The flexible never get bent out of shape. Like a new wineskin, we must be able to expand to receive what God is pouring in.
• Anchor yourself in the Word, not your circumstances. Circumstances are always shifting, but God's Word is unchanging and will never disappoint.
• Choose to trust before you have clarity. We rarely get the full picture upfront, moving forward with limited information is an act of faith and obedience.
• Choose obedience over your comfort zone. Change will always stretch you and feel uncomfortable, but the comfort zone is the enemy of what God wants to do in your life.
Scriptures
• 2 Corinthians 5:17 - "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation. Old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."
• Matthew 9:17 - "Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins. And both are preserved."
• Isaiah 40:8 - "The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever."
• Hebrews 11:8 - "By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance, and he went out not knowing where he was going."
• Romans 12:2 - "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you can prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
