How to Thrive and not Strive in Business

How to Thrive and not Strive in Business

About

Hello and Welcome to the Creative Force Podcast! If you are new around here this is a Christian entrepreneur podcast for women of faith who are building something meaningful.

In today’s episode I sit down with Monique Jenkin, founder of Active Faith and a Bible-based wellness coach all the way from South Africa. Monique shares her story as a fashion designer who heard God call her into a new venture, stepping into faith-based wellness and launching Active Faith, the nine months of wrestling it took to finally say yes, and what she learned on the other side of that obedience.

We talk about what it really looks like to thrive in business rather than strive, how to overcome comparison and perfectionism as a Christian woman entrepreneur, and what it means to walk in shalom peace with God in your calling. Monique also shares how she coaches women spirit, soul, and body and why true transformation always starts on the inside.

This episode is for the woman who is exhausted from striving, knows she needs to stop adding to what God has asked her to do, and is ready to learn what it looks like to rest and thrive in her calling.

My Takeaways

The business belongs to God. You are simply the CEO working for him. It is not your job to gather the finances each month or find the people. That takes the pressure off and puts it where it belongs.

Dragging out obedience costs you. The sooner you say yes, the better.

God does not call the equipped. He equips the called. You do not need to have everything figured out before you take the first step. Just take the step.

Peace is your navigator. When peace is present you are walking in alignment. When peace is gone, specifically when it starts affecting your sleep, that is your first indicator that something is off.

Productivity happens through surrender. The world says push and grind and rest when you are done. God says work from a place of rest and let that peace follow you through the whole week.

A shalom walk with God means going at his pace, stopping to smell the roses, not running to get your steps in. That is what thriving in business actually looks like.

Journaling is emotional hygiene. Write down your thoughts and feelings so they come out of you rather than sitting inside building up. Even one or two sentences a day is enough.

Stop giving the enemy free rent in your mind. He does not pay for it. Learn to distinguish between what is from God and what is from the enemy. Everything from God will always be backed by his Word.

Perfectionism is a yoke you place on yourself. Jesus said his yoke is easy and his burden is light. Perfectionism is the opposite of that. Watch what you speak over yourself because you are agreeing with a yoke that was never yours to carry.

Social media is a playground for comparison.

True transformation works from the inside out. Spirit first, then soul, then body. The world focuses on the outside and that is why its results are temporary. God's way produces lasting change.

We are three part beings made in the image of a three part God. You cannot just work on your spirit and ignore your emotions or your body. Jesus came to make you whole, not partially healed.

Where obedience is, blessings will follow. That is not why you obey, but it is a great benefit of it.

Scriptures

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." - Matthew 11:28-30
